Right now I Listening to John's EXCEPTIONAL version of "Christmas Bells" from that CPR Holiday Train thing he did back in 2005. It has become one of my favorites of the season. Another favorite version is by none other than Mr. Christmas himself, Burl Ives, but he titled it "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day".

Thanks John for the music and shows in 2009, and a gorgeous new album! Please know that what you are doing is greatly appreciated. Hope to see another show soon. Maybe Seattle next year?

Wishing my fellow Gorksters out there each a happy, peaceful and healthy season and new year! Hope to see more of your posts in 2010.

Yours truly,
Rogue

Some things keep me looking up and Johnís music is one of them. It is like an old familiar friend that lifts my heart.
How lucky we are to have him shining his light in this world that bubbles with trouble.
And, all the musings left on this discussion board do much the same for me-
a large smile broadening past the ears can often follow.
Most of you follow the spirit of our host, a very generous heart, and that will make the world a better place. Thanks to Jos, Rogue, and Between5and7 for towing the line when the rest of us are slacking.
Never give up, never lose hope, and always choose love.

Happy Holidays!

Happy Christmas, Merry New Year, and Good Winter Solstice along with all celebrated Holidays.

(I hope that covers it.)

Give somebody a Gorka CD this year and help them get Gorkatized!

(I was remiss in not mentioning Jackscrow on the previous message, as I thanked the tried and true. Jackscrow, I meant you too!)

Auld Lang Syne

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne!

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne.
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

And surely ye'll be your pint stowp!
And surely I'll be mine!
And we'll tak a cup o'kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

We twa ha'e run about the braes,
And pou'd the gowans fine;
But we've wander'd mony a weary fit,
Sin' auld lang syne.

We twa hae paidl'd in the burn,
Frae morning sun till dine;
But seas between us braid ha'e roar'd
Sin' auld lang syne.

And there's a hand, my trusty fere!
And gie's a hand o' thine!
And we'll tak a right gude-willie waught,
For auld lang syne.
-Robert Burns

It looks as if Robert Burns gets credit for this as he rewrote this from a tune of his day.
I will be singing Auld Lang Syne as the New Year rings in, and toasting all of you.
